Getting to Chamonix
The closest airport to the conference site is the Geneva airport (GVA). The Geneva airport is <1.5 h drive from Chamonix. You can also get from the Geneva airport to Chamonix by train or one of the numerous shuttle buses (tickets can be purchased online or at the airport).
Please note that Geneva Airport is in Switzerland and you may need a Swiss visa, even if you are not staying in Switzerland.
An alternative to Geneva airport is the Lyon airport (LYS), which is 2-3 h drive from Chamonix. A bus (several companies operate this route) from Lyon St Exupéry Airport to Chamonix Sud takes slightly over 3h.
Conference bus
There will be busses from the Geneva airport to Le Majestic on Sat Sept 9 2023 at 6:30 pm, Sun Sept 10 2023 at 1 pm and 5 pm. The busses are 10 € (compared to > 25 € to other available means of transportation) and can be booked during the registration managed by the Chamonix Convention Bureau.
The return buses from Chamonix to the Geneva airport are on Thu Sept 14th 2023 at 1:00 pm and 2:30 pm and can be booked during the registration or later on site at the conference.
Accommodation
A number of hotels with different range of comfort and affordability will be bookable at the registration at prices negotiated with Office du Tourisme de Chamonix (single rooms from 122.3 to 146.3 €, double rooms from 139.6 to 165.6 €). All of the hotels are within maximum 15 minutes walking distance from the conference center, Le Majestic.
